Wez's Uke Skool
 Ukulele's are fast becoming the instrument of choice in many schools. We have taught Ukulele at Grafton House in Ashton for 4 years and at Trinity Christian School for 2 years. When I first aired the idea of Ukulele instead of guitar I had a few raised eyebrows and George Formby jokes.
"Wez's Uke Skool" was born out of this; I wanted something for the young people to aim towards that was fun and in the spirit of the Ukulele. Everyone loves receiving a ribbon so I started there. The Music Corner system uses a progression of pieces focusing on increasing ability through chord knowledge.
"Wez's Uke Skool" is for young people aged 6 - 11 years and is on Saturday morning at the shop in Stalybridge. Coloured ribbons are awarded for achieving short term goals The ribbon is achieved if the final end of colour song with skill and enjoyment.
Beginners Uke
9.30am and 10.00am Saturday Morning
1 chord = White Ribbon
2 chords = Yellow Ribbon
3 chords = Orange Ribbon
Intermediate Uke
10.30am and 11.00am Saturday Morning
4 chords = Green Ribbon
5 chords = Blue Ribbon
6 chords = Purple Ribbon
Advanced Uke
11.30am Saturday Morning
7 chords = Brown Ribbon
8 chords = Black Ribbon
9 chords = Silver Ribbon
Junior Strummers4.00pm Saturday Afternoon
10 chords = Gold Ribbon
Lesson's are £6.50 per half hour paid in advance in blocks of 4 lessons.
