The Ties that Bind The ties that bind we cannot see, They reach out to eternity. Invisible to every eye They live within a lover’s sigh No matter where your life may lead You’ll hear the calling of the seed That planted you so long ago, And loved you when you didn’t know The one who gazed at you with pride, Who always stayed close by your side? But no one knows where life may lead For those who never took no heed, To older or much wiser minds Who never seemed to be unkind? Sometime you may be all alone Without a friend to call your own, Its then you always seem to feel That longing love that left its seal Upon a heart not made of stone That calls the prodigal back home.
