Christ Church Ashton-under-Lyne has its own ‘hymn writer.’ May Forman has been writing poems and spiritual verses for 12 years; publishing them in the church magazine for quite a while. As soon as I discovered her talent, I found suitable tunes and we have been singing her hymns in church. Hymn: to the tune Finlandia; repeat the last two lines of each verse 4646D Wing now my soul, on beams of glorious light; Way past the stars, into my Saviour’s sight: I am secure, for His love guides my way, His peace, it comes, as at the close of day. Wing now my soul, His love, it reaches far Beyond the moon, way past that distant star: He’s calling now, I hear His voice so clear, Those words of love that draw us oh so near. Wing now no more, my soul at last with Thee; Safe in your love, I knew I’d always be. Contented now, as old things pass away; I see God’s face as in His arms I lay. Christos May Foreman
