BiographyJason first started playing the piano at the age of 6. He's currently in his final year at Chetham's School of Music studying with Dina Parakhina. As a soloist Jason has performed a variety of programmes throughout Greater Manchester, Edinburgh and Northumberland in music festivals, composer marathons and concert series. He has won many prizes at numerous music festivals including "Most Promising Young Pianist". In 2006 Jason achieved 86% distinction in his DipABRSM Performance Diploma as well as being a finalist in the RNCM "Chopin Prize" in memory of Ryszard Bakst. Jason has taken part in various master classes including ones taken by Bryce Morrison, Havard Gimse, Graham Scott, and his current teacher Dina Parakhina. As a composer Jason has had symphonic work performed by the "Chetham's New Music Ensemble". Choral work will be performed later this year by "Chetham's Chorale" which he also leads and conducts. Recently he has helped to raise money for "Macmillan Cancer Care" and "Friends of Chernobyl's Children" and has previously worked voluntarily as the musical director for an Ashton Under-Lyne based theatre group. Jason also has a deep interest in music technology, he has produced charity CD's and a variety of recordings. He has been asked to record "Big Band One" at various internal and external Chethams' concerts later this year. As well as being a soloist Jason has been teaching for the past three years.
