Maksim Mrvica was born on 3 May 1975 in the historic Mediterranean town of Sebenick, Croatia. He graduated from the Music Academy in Zagreb, completing his musical studies at the Liszt Ferenc Conservatorium in Budapest, Ecole National Musique and the Alexander Skbjabin Conservatorium in Paris. The tendancy towards artistic exhibitionism and musical experiment brought him together with the composer Tonci Huljic, responsible for Maksim's initial encounter with the impressario Mel Bush. Mel immediately recognised Maksim's charisma and distinctive style, and within the next five years of cooperation they published 5 albums, positioned at the very of contemporary crossover piano music.
Compositions combining virtuosity and an easy listening style attracted a great number of fans worldwide, particularly in Asia where he put on a number of concerts, both solo and group shows, including a tour with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra. Maksim's visual appearance and manner of performance of both classical and contemporary compositions overcome the strictly set boundaries of music performance, making him an inspiration for the young people, as he guides them into the world of music in his own special way.
