The name Ichthus comes from the Greek IXOYE which is an acronym for Iesous Christos, Theou Yios, Soter. Translated from the Greek IXOYE means "Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour".
Stalybridge Splash 2007 - Article by John Caton-Greasley

Stalybridge Splash Logo The day started bright sun and I took to the stage with my redishen of Bob Marleys redemtion song then waiting in vain by the same artist, to finish off my set was long train running by the doobie brothers.

After I finished my crocky profomance the sun was still shining when Matt Jones steps up to play accoustic guitar with song from Eric Clapton and other great guitarists solos plus vocals.

Lee Stevens was next on stage, a performance not to have missed. Lee started with a vocal rendition of Hard to Handle then a four and a half minute guitar solo by Joe Satriani, loud would not describe or do justice to the volume of this performance... It was great !

Andrea Palmer had her work cut out as she sang her accoustic set it chucked it down with rain, but as a true pro she sang on with songs from Dylan to The Beatles.

Peter Radley was also a real trooper who sang in the rain with his own compositions (and beer).

Andy and Daniel AKA Glimmer Twins came down to rock the party....still rainnig Andy got a little shock from his electric guitar as the rain tends to make it dangerous but thats rock and roll for you.

Little H blastered us out with his version of Smells like teen sprit then some other song I could not make out????

By this time the rain was making the whole day a wash out but we carried on cos we LOVE playing music. The stage area was re-set for the profectional guitar teacher Mr Roger Wright , he played Long way to tipper rarey, pack up your troubles and finished off with BYE bye love.

Dan Sharrocks brought his own amp in for his spot, a Line6 at 75watts and his Fernedas guitar. If you thought Lee was loud the Dan made him sound like a kitten in a soft fluffy basket. Dan played three original songs, one an accoustic dedecated to his sister another written by his students and the last a heavy metal piece that rocked the house.

By this time the rain had stopped and there was a lot of people enjoying our fringe guitar show , there was still time for the final preformance, The Glimmer twins with me on drums playing rock and roll....what a laugh we had!!!

We are going to do this again next year so dont miss it cos its going to be bigger and LOUDER.
