This half term we are using the ‘Recorder Karate Dojo’ programme. Grafton House is the only school in the UK to receive permission to use this program from the USA.

The pupils will earn ribbon belts for set pieces. Each pupil will have a Karate character on the new music notice board which will move down the recorder according to the belts.

The Pupil or Kyu belts are White, Yellow, Orange, (notes B A G) Green (Note E G A) , Purple (Note D E G A B) , Blue (5 notes) , Red (6 notes) , Brown (7 notes) and Black (8 notes) .

Following these there are 9 Dan black belts which will be completed on the Tenor Recorder.

Each member of the orchestra will receive a bead on the ribbons for each piece we have completed.

Solo ribbon belt tests will be held on Thursday after school.
