My sons idea, which we were dubious about.
He had a lot of old keys from Grandad's shed and decided he needed help stringing them up for chime set to go with his drum kit.
So under duress we drilled a series of holes 1cm apart in a childs wooden coat hanger and patiently helped him string 21 keys to drop at roughly the same height. Some of the little ones had two keys attached just to be sure they sounded.
The first time we sounded it we were all pleasantly surprised. it sounded very convincing.
Over time we have dabbed the knots with a little glue to be sure. It now is an great addition to his drum kids. We use an old broken music stand minus top to support it
