Recorder Day at Market Hall ... December 2000
Christmas carols will be filling the air as children entertain the crowds in Ashton's Market Hall. The Music Corner, based inside the hall, will be having a recorder day which will include Christmas carols played by recorder groups of children and adults from Mossley Methodist Church on November 25th 2000 at 10am. The two groups will be playing a selection of Christmas carols, 13th centurty pieces and irish jigs throughout the morning. The shop will also be holding a raffle with musical prizes incuding an Aulos recorder woth £50.00, all the profits will go to the Willow Wood Hospice.
Report on Recorder Day 2000
Shoppers were entertained at a special music day held to rasie money fpr charity. Christmas carols were played by recorder groups from Mossley Methodist Church as The Music Corner in Ashton Market Hall hosted a recorder day.
Both adult and children recorder groups performed Chrismtas carols, 13th century pieces and irish jigs throughout the day as they reasied money for Willow Wood Hospice.
the shp also held a raffle with musical prizes including a top Aulos recorder worth £50.00, which all went towards the final total of £150 for the hospice
