A couple of the photos are of the engineers side - this is a more complicated side than the fireman&--8217;s - the oil cans on the shelf above the firedoor are also from the 'Bachmann Annie' and repainted silver. The three &--8216;try cocks&--8217; on the right (engineer &--8211; driver&--8217;s ) hand side, have etched brass wheels from Meridian models The last photo is of the simpler fireman&--8217;s side. This unit slides on, and into the gap left at the end of the chassis (the firebox is lower that the cab floor) for it. The gauge glass on this side is from bits of plastic with wire for the handles top & bottom, paint the &--8216;glass&--8217; silver. Don&--8217;t forget to add some silver dry brushing around the firedoor &--8211; it gives some life to the area and can be seen when the tender is fitted. At this late stage I made some changes to the end of the chassis &--8211; this was to allow the firebox end to be shown to the much more correct depth. This entailed a small additional piece being added below the end of the firebox, this piece is the &--8216;between the frames&--8217; fixing point for the firebox.

This is made quite easily from bits of tube and rod, and adds a finishing touch. It meant that the plugs from this area were moved further down, (and were eventually replaced with some smaller replacements) to a far more prototypical position.
