How did we do it?
Placed a pasta sauce tub at one end of a shoe box lid and some small 'rocks' from a trip to Wales.
Filled the lid and covered the pasta tub with plaster or paris, left to dry.
W painted the sea and land with poster paint.
Glued on extra small stones (treacherous rocks) from the garden.
Mixed green poster paint with sawdust to make grass (honest). Glued on the grass outcrops.
The lighthouse is in three parts made out of air hardening clay.
The tower has a drinking straw inside to put the wire through.
The light chamber is cut away for the light to shine out.
A bulb and connector was added afterwards, hence the tilt.
The hat was made last. All parts are glued together.
The battery is inside the pasta pot / island with a small switch unit.
We then made a little hollow in the plaster and glued it on.
Remove the box, tidy up the sides of the sea, and you have a lighthouse.
