Collage is great.
To do this we had a brain storming session on what materials to use and how to produce the right effect. Our result was for me to draw Wilbur, the pig, and K would paint it then I would shade it.
W ground coffee beans by hand and mixed it with glue to make mud. Then he sprinkled instant coffee on top to make wet mud globdules. Only a 3 year old could come up with this, and it worked! We tried the same thing with hot chocolate at the back of Wilbur, but this didn't work.
The barn wood effect was carved onto a polystyrene tile and printed with poster paint used as printing ink. I then drew on the barn shapes.
The web main lines were laid with cotton and glue by me, then K drew on the circle lines and the spider on a drop line. Terrific was penned on over my guide lines.
The flowers and grass was J's idea to put some colour in.
Everyone enjoyed doing the project.
