We made these wonderful skin drums during our Native American's project. The rest of the project will arrive on site at sometime. Using natural skin and three plant pots out of the garden and some garden twine. Basically I used a hole punch on dry vellum to place two holes about an inch apart at 12, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 o'clock. Then soaked the vellum for a few hours in warm water. Then we got all go-ey as we attempted to stretch it over the pot and tie it down. This was trial and error as mum and three kids under 6 had never tried it before. BUT by the end of the thrid pot we figured a loop of string for the base and not each one down to it. with some extra pulls here and there I was happy with it eventually and we let it dry. The kids then decorated the tops with water colours which I was not in favour of BUT 2 summers on (wow that went fast!!). they are still perfect and well used. !!
