To be effective in spiritual warfare we need to know the oppositions tactics and have a counter attacks ready with your sword at the ready at all times, this is the only weapon Paul lists, the word of God. Tactic 1 Why pray when you can panic, God Never Answers. Attack Daniel 10: 12-13 Then he continued "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I havecome in response to them. But the prince of the Persian Kingdom resisted me twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the cheif princes, came to help me, because I was detained there with the King of Persia" These comments seem to come from a heavenly wearrior and hint at the heavenly warfare that humans know little about. When prayers are unanswered for a long time more can be involved that we could ever imagine. Rebuke Satan and trust in God.
Tactic 2 To sow seeds of doubt in your mind Attack Ephesians 6:17 Take the helemet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God Satan wants to make us doubt God, Jesus and our salvation. The helmet protects out most vulnerable part, our mind, from doubting God.
Tactic 3 You're not forgiven for all your sins. (doubt) Attack 1 John 1: 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. God wants to forgive our sins when we come to Christ he forgives all our sins. He forgives our sins so we can have maximum contact with Him. This wouldn't be possible if he only forgave half our sins, God wants us to be able to have maximum contact with Him.
Tactic 4 To get you to Turn and Run from Satan Attack 2 Chronicles 20:17 You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions and stand firm and see the deliverence the Lord will give you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you. This refers to the battle that God won for Jehoshaphat but we can apply this to our lives as well. God will always be with you, helping you win the battle. Remember there is no armour in Ephesians to protect your back. God will help you stand your ground.
