There is nothing new in the operation of a pyramid system of teaching. Vivaldi ran a highly successful one in Venice at the Pieta, in the early 18th century. When the girls at the orphanage ceased to be pupils, they were either married off to noblemen, or became nuns, or stayed on to become music teachers. Not surprisingly, many favoured this last option.
So - would you ask your pupils to start teaching?
Who are our teachers for tomorrow?
Go right ahead!
You will be giving them a skill for life, as well as a wide circle of friends. The time to start is when you are still there to advise them, week-by-week, not when they are out on their own.
