The inventors of Girl Power are due to perform together for the first time in four years at the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremony.
 The nineties girl band are reportedly "95 percent" confirmed to reunite for the high profile concert. Beckham, who is rumoured to be the most reluctant bandmember to reform, has since become a fashion designer and lives in America. An online paper is reporting the following quote "Geri said: ‘After the Olympics I can't imagine even talking to her again, let alone being on a stage with her. Mel B. was right, she has lost the spirit of the band." However rumours started flying when Victoria was rumoured to have released the following statement " 'Who knows, maybe some day we’ll do something else with the Spice Girls. I would love nothing more. I don’t know about a comeback tour but I loved being back with the girls. There was a lot of fun, we did so much together and we’ll see. If they’re up for something then I certainly am.'
She added: 'We are so proud to be English and we are very excited about the Olympics. '" It becomes even more confusing when we read on another page "A source close to the Beckhams explained she fears a comeback on a global stage would open her up to more criticism about her singing.
'There is no way Victoria will perform with the Spice Girls ever again. She's not a spoilsport but she doesn't feel she's a good enough performer to go back there again all these years on,' they explained." But a source close to the group said: “The delay has nothing to do with Victoria or Mel C — it’s down to Mel B.
She’s told organisers that if they want her at the show they are going to have to fork out for a stack of unreasonable demands.
“She wants her friends and family flown from all over to see the Olympi c gig and wants them to have backstage access. And her rider, which includes a demand for a personal stylist to be flown wherever she goes, is ridiculous.” Whatever can be said the band have certainly introduce a little Spice into the rumours and online column inches.  While there has been no official announcement about the girls taking part in the official Olympics closing ceremony a source told an online source the girls will be singing two numbers one of which will be their 1997 hit Spice Up Your Life , the other is thought to be Wannabe .
Halliwell it is rumoured will wear the Union Jack dress she wore at the 1997 Brit Awards.
In summary, according to assorted online sources, and press releases it's a definate maybe but do "we really really want them to?"
