| Music Corner uses a secure payment system and checkout pages. The checkout information pages are under a high grade encryption (AES-256 256 bit secure socket). This encryption makes it very difficult for unauthorised people to view information travelling between computers. It is therefore very unlikely that anyone can read this page as it travels across the network. On the checkout page you can choose to join the site as a registered customer, an educational customer or just checkout without registering. The benefit of registering is that you receive monthly updates, offers and discounts. You can choose to pay by cash (in shop) cheque (or postal order), Credit or Debit card including AMEX, BACS or IBACS. Cheque Payments If you choose to pay by cheque you will need to post a paper cheque to Music Corner Limited before we send your order; with the exception of Schools, Colleges and Universities which, with an official order, may pay cheque by return. Cheques from outside the UK can only be accepted from a bank with a branch in the UK and a UK sort code. Payments are only accepted in STERLING – POUNDS. Music Corner reserves the right to clear any cheques before the goods are despatched. Credit or Debit Card Payments If you choose to pay by credit or debit card you will be transferred to Sage Pay (previously known as Protex). This is a secure payment service provider who is DCI-PSS Level 1 compliant. Sage Pay systems exclusively deal with your credit or debit card which means no human has access to the numbers. The PCI DSS, a set of comprehensive requirements for enhancing payment account data security, was developed by the founding payment brands of the PCI Security Standards Council, including American Express, Discover Financial Services, JCB International, MasterCard Worldwide and Visa Inc. International, to help facilitate the broad adoption of consistent data security measures on a global basis. On the payment system we use a 3D secure system. 3D Secure stands for Three Domain Secure - the payment industry's internet authentication standard which has been developed by the major card schemes. Visa has called their version of the scheme 'Verified by Visa' and MasterCard have called their equivalent initiative 'MasterCard SecureCode'. These are both collectively referred to as 3D Secure. 3D Secure authentication requires the cardholder to register their card to take advantage of this service. This is a one time process which takes place on the card issuer's website and involves the cardholder answering several security questions to which only the card issuer and cardholder will know the answer. The cardholder selects a password and agrees on a secret phrase, which will be used by the card issuer during each online transaction. 3D Secure can be thought of as an online version of 'Chip and Pin' technology, whereby the cardholder has a personalised password registered with their card that is entered during the checkout process. 3D Secure is predicted to become the industry standard by the end of 2007 and all online consumers will soon become as familiar with this, as when they enter their 'Pin' number at a cash machine or till in a shop. Music Corner cannot accept payments that have not passed the 3D secure payment authentication. All credit and debit cards are address checked for your own security, and, except by prior arrangements, we will only send to the cards holders address. If you would like to send to a 3rd party address it is more secure to pay by BACS. It is very difficult to check the address on International cards therefore the quickest way is to pay by IBACS. BACS & IBACS Payments BACS means Bankers' Automated Clearing Service and it is a way to pay money directly from your bank account into our bank account. It takes three days to clear. If you want your order delivered to a 3rd party address, i.e. as a gift, then the payment has to be made by BACS and goods will be sent on receipt of the money. International orders can be paid by IBACS (International Bankers' Automated Clearing Service). This method is easier than credit or debit card as there will be no issue with address checks, which are now legally required in the UK. Please note goods will not be released until the payment has reached our bank. |
