This single-headed shaman drum is widely used in shamanic ritual, and is played with a special beater. The head of the shaman drum may also sometimes be decorated with runes and other symbols of ritual meaning. To begin a shaman ritual, the shaman will often heat the shaman drum over a fire to raise the pitch, although this is not recommended for everyday use! The shaman drum makes a surprisingly loud, low-pitched primal sound which has a somewhat spiritual quality.
How to play the shaman drum: Hold the Shaman Drum by the rope cross at the back, and beat the drum skin with the beater.
